Outward Bound - developing the national talent of Oman

Wednesday 28th Sep 2022, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

34 Sackville St, London

We are pleased to invite you to this upcoming event at the British Omani Society. From a staff of one to a staff of forty, and how the Duke of Edinburgh and HRH Prince Charles played their part in shaping the lives of more than 20,000 people in The Sultanate, Mark will share with us the journey of Outward Bound in Oman, from small start-up in 2009 in a tiny donated office to now having three international standard national training centres that play a significant role in helping make Vision 2040 a reality.

Mark Evans has lived in Oman for 17-years, and is the Executive Director of Outward Bound Oman. In 2005 Mark undertook a solo 55-day journey by kayak along the entire coastline of Oman from Musandam to Yemen, and in 2016, along with two Omani companions he retraced the first ever crossing of the Rub Al Khali, a journey of 49 days on foot and by camel from Salalah to Doha. The day before his lecture to us, Mark will be launching his next expedition at The Royal Geographical Society.

Date: 28th September 2022
Time: 5:30pm reception for 6:00pm start (UK)
