Arabic Classes with our Omani Teacher
Are you interested in learning the Omani Arabic dialect?
AOS’s Beginners Level 1 Arabic Language and Omani Culture Awareness Course will introduce you to written and spoken Arabic (including Omani spoken dialect/vocabulary). This course aims to give students a picture of the Omani society ways of living through different day-to-day situations along with learning and practicing Arabic. It is very important for those interested in learning more about other cultures and those who may come to work or live in Oman.
Beginners level only

This course will cover:
- Arabic alphabet
- Numbers in Arabic
- Basics: icebreakers/greetings
- Personal and possessive pronouns
- Present, past and future tenses
- Tourism in Oman
- Geographical and historical context
The course will be delivered by an Omani tutor with a long experience in Arabic-English translation and culture awareness filed between Oman and UK. It will also be given online for 2-hour session that lasts for 120 minutes with breaks in between (e.g. 40min main topic + 40min practice + 40min culture). There will be a revision at the beginning of each session. Students will start learning Arabic letters in terms of pronunciation, writing, and joining letters to form words, short phrases and sentences introducing themselves, their families, their job, asking and answering short questions. They will also learn Numbers in Arabic and basic grammar (verb tenses, nouns, pronouns, adjectives and linking words) as they cover several dialogues and conversations. Students will have the chance to see more about geography, history, and different parts/environment of Oman, and “feel” the daily life among Omanis before they come to work or live in this part of the world.
There will be a WhatsApp Group for those students keen to be updated and share questions or more discussions related to this course. Students who wish to join the WhatsApp Group are kindly requested to provide their phone numbers a week prior to course start.
The course content will be made available to the enrolled students before the course starts.
