Alan Milne is a retired Chartered Secretary who has lived and worked in Portugal, France, Gibraltar, Bahrain and Oman. On leaving the Sultanate in 1987 he joined the Society and became a Trustee in 1992 and retired in 2000. He was appointed to assist the then Secretary, Morie Johnston, to deal with the Trustees’ legal requirements as Secretary to the Trustees in 1993 and continued in that role until 2010. Alan drafted and settled the Constitution of the reformed Society which was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee on 26 September 2008 and set that entity up as a new charity. He has been the Secretary of the Society since 2010. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of World Traders and assists his old school in the setting up of a bursary fund.
