Foreign Secretary Liz Truss Visits the Sultanate of Oman

On Wednesday 30th March 2022, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik gave audience to Elizabeth Truss, the UK Foreign Secretary. The audience was held at Al Barakah Palace and attended by His Excellency Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, the Oman Foreign Minister, His Excellency Sayyid Faisal Hamoud al Busaidi, Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court, and His Excellency Bill Murray, British Ambassador to Oman. 

It is reported that cordial talks were exchanged and the historical relations of friendship between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom were discussed. Elizabeth Truss especially thanked His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and His Excellency Sayyid Badr for Oman's aid in securing the release of UK Nationals from Iran just last week. 

We also understand that Elizabeth Truss was recieved by His Excellency Sayyid Badr, the Oman Foreign Minister, in a separate audience attended by Khalil Hashel al Musalhi, Head of Department of the Minister's office, His Excellency Bill Murray, British Ambassador to Oman, and officials from both sides.

This visit comes within the framework of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's visit to the United Kingdom in December and the visits that followed by officals from both sides.
