Congratulations to Dr Liane Saunders: Newly Appointed Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman

Dr Liane Saunders OBE has been appointed His Majesty’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, in an announcement made by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office on 7 June 2023. Dr Saunders succeeds Mr William Murray, who has now retired from the Diplomatic Service. Dr Saunders will take up their appointment during June 2023.

The British Omani Society is delighted to be among those welcoming them to their new post.

Dr Saunders has a depth of experience in the region as well as holding senior roles in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the Cabinet Office. We look forward to working closely with them to continue to strengthen our relations with Oman.”

Dr Saunder's brings a wealth of knowledge to their new role, gained from almost 20 years' combined experience working in various senior positions at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the Cabinet Office. See further details here.
